The players attend their classes at the White Hart Lane stadium in conjunction with the North
London College. They provide all the necessary teachers, but the college facilities are also
available to the players whenever needed.

The education is tailored to each individual player, and the courses can vary from A-level studies,
vocational subjects and can include basic numeracy and literacy where necessary.

The academy maintains a regular contact with all the registered schoolboy players from the U9
to U16 groups, and offers assistance to all the schools to stress the importance of obtaining
    successful examination results.

This takes the form of regular school visits, and discussions with class and head teachers
concerning the progress of the boys.

Academy registration can be placed in danger if a young player persistently breaks school rules -
including truancy, homework violations and misbehaviour.

Tottenham Hotspur Acadmy and CEOP join forces

Millions of children across the UK have access to the internet. It is now central to how they stay

in touch with their friends and family. However the internet is also a public place and while

bringing many benefits and opportunities, also opens up new risks and challenges. That's

why Tottenham Hotspur has teamed up with the Child Exploitation and Online Protection

    (CEOP) Centre.

CEOP is part of the UK police, set up to tackle the sexual exploitation of children. The CEOP

Centre aims to educate children, young people, their parents, carers and fans to understand

the risks they may face online and what they can do to empower themselves to stay safe. They

also track, locate and hold child sexual offenders to account.

Tottenham Hotspur uses the internet to communicate to coaches, referees, scouts, medics,

agents, young leaders, players, parents and fans. It's important to understand how to make

use of this technology appropriately and working with the CEOP Centres education

programme Think uknow will help to do this.

This Academy is developed in order to invest in upcoming footballing talent and provide the network, coaching, health and lifestyle advice that each player needs to make a successful career in football. If you are looking for a career in football, and live in this academy catchment, then your best chance will be to join the Academy.

    About this Academy

This Academy offer an advanced football development and education programme supported by expert and dedicated staff.

    This Academy is located at:

This clubs Academy use advanced technology and coaching methods to develop their players. They are actively looking for upcoming talent to join their academy, and are very selective about who gets in, as competition is tough.

With the changes that have taken place in the football academy system. Academy Category three clubs are now free (U12+) to recruit from all over the nation.

Previously, Category three clubs could only recruit talent within a 90 minute travelling time to the academy, but the FA have reconsidered this following thinking that the best talent should only fairly be allowed to play in the best academies even if they do not live nearby. This gives the very best talent the very best chances of success, thus growing our home grown talent for the international stage.

This has seen a rise in host families being recruited here, to help house young promising talent in safe family environments.

    Upcoming Fixtures

We have a whole programme of upcoming activities, fixtures and events. Check the times of each match or look up the match venue for any of the Academy age groups.

How to get a trial at this team

You must be selected to have a trial at this club, so it is important that players are spotted in the right places at the right times. For some players, they prefer a direct approach sending in links to videos of themselves playing football, but it is worth bearing in mind that clubs receive thousands of these videos each week and simply don’t have time to watch them all and go about their daily business, so the most effective way of getting scouted for a trial at this club is to join. Scouts regularly select young players from soccer school sessions and invite them to trial at the development centres, and anyone can play in their soccer schools so it offers an open door for all to get spotted.

It is also particularly good planning to take your child to soccer schools as soon as they are old enough, as their competition will be doing the same, so it enables them to develop their talents in line with the same level as their peers.

How to get scouted by a scout

scouts offer players the chance to trial. Many players are lucky enough to find themselves in the right places when scouts are watching games, but we are also very aware that good talent can slip through the net, so do offer players the chances to directly contact them with the below details.

Understandably they are unable to respond to everybody due to the volume of applications, but this does serve as an effective way to alert scouts about talent looking to take their football to the next level and secure a trial

To get scouted for a trial simply collect the following information:

    • Players CV
    • Covering Letter
    • Players Vital Statistics: Players position, Age, Date of Birth, Height, Weight, contact email/phone/address, current club, previous clubs, detail of any trials already attended, any representative honours such as school, districts, county etc
    • Players school they attend
    • Fixture list of your current team, including location and kick off time to be passed to scout

Once you have collated all of the above information, email

will assess your application and decide whether or not to send a scout to watch the game.

How to write a football CV (resume)
It is very important to have a well written Football CV.
Here are some hints and tips to help you to write a football CV that will grab the attention of any coach, sports manager or scout who may see it.
When writing your CV try to consider the following points and details which your CV should have:-
    Your Details
Of course as with any CV it is important to list your personal details, try to keep your information as clear and concise as possible.
    Name & Date of Birth
    Address and Nationality
The next thing that you must state is your nationality and country of residence. The national football associations of many countries limit the number of foreign players allowed to play in a team. However, by stating your nationality and residence you allow coaches and scouts from teams local to you to contact you.
Contact details – telephone number / email address
    Physical Information
It is necessary to state personal physical information eg. height, weight, are you right or left-footed? Etc. This is done so that club representatives can accurately select candidates for the position they have available in their team. If you can play equally well with both feet, then say so. This radically improves your chances of being selected as you are a far more flexible player as a result.
    Your Football Career
Which team do you play for now?
This is an important part of your CV as it will be one of the main things an employer will look at. Also, if you can play in different positions, then this is a very big advantage so list them. Your abilities to play in different positions means you are a universal player, which improves your chances of success. However, naming every single position on the pitch is probably not a good idea!
    Your football career so far
Employers will like to see your career history as a football player to understand the scope of your experience, of the level of the clubs who you have played for. Also, if possible, include match statistics obtained during these games (eg. the number of the matches played, the score, if you scored etc).
    Sporting Achievements
Is there anything special you have achieved in your footballing career? Competitions, leagues or tournaments won? Your CV is exactly the right place to put it!
    Which languages can you speak?
State your native language and if you speak other languages, especially English, then say this on your cv stating your level at the language and any examinations that you have passed. Good communication amongst the squad and with coaches and staff is essential. A club will certainly prefer to have players with good English language skills!
    About You
A good way to end a CV is with some information about you as a person, your professional qualities, your strengths and weaknesses.
If you wish to attach a video with your CV we would advise that it be of you playing as part of a team in active match play rather than of you alone performing ball tricks.
    Finally!
Always be honest when writing your CV. Try to be clear and not give too much unnecessary information, but include any information you think might be important to help you be identified as somebody a coach would love to have on his team!

    BARKING FC ACADEMY FOOTBALL TRIALS

Barking Football Club are extremely pleased to announce that they are to provide a Academy Apprenticeship Scheme for all 16-18 year olds starting this year.

Trials, interviews and showcase games will be held over the next five months to find the most suitable candidates.

After extensive discussions, research and meetings the club has put together a sporting package for candidates that will meet & hopefully surpass all of their sporting & Educational needs.

Firstly the club will be working alongside one of the best sport educational companies in the country, SCL, who recently scored very high marks in their OFSTED report.

Secondly the club has agreed the use of an 'Olympic standard' facility that will cater for all our needs with regards Training & Learning.

Thirdly the candidates will have the opportunity to work with both Professional UEFA 'A' coaches & Ex-Professional Players/coaches and represent the club in competitive matches.

And finally the candidates will have the opportunity to 'Earn & Learn' after they have successfully completed an 'Introductory Period'.

Barking FC Chairman Rob O'Brien says “This opportunity for local boys will be fantastic. In this borough of LBBD and also in neighbouring boroughs we have a history of sporting achievement. We at the club want to enhance this success and have put together one of the sporting Elite packages to be found anywhere in the country. We have always had the vision to provide such a scheme but wanted to ensure the partnerships & timing was right. What better time to start this scheme in our London Olympic year when the true Olympic legacy can be realised and to associate with SCL, the top of sport education company and Sporthouse, Olympic standard facility provider.”

If you are 16, 17 or 18 years of age and are interested in developing your knowledge of sport and in particular football then please send in your details to the club at This email address is being protected from spambots. LEWES FC FOOTBALL TRIALS

    HOT NEWS

Any new applicants will be invited to attend training days with the current Academy squad (as well as the U18′s and First Team) over the summer, so it is still not too late to book your place for next years intake. We are still looking for several players and positions, including goalkeepers, so don’t hestitate – send off your application form today. See bottom of page for details.

    What is the Football Academy?

The Football Academy is a 2-year, full-time Education and Football Development programme (first started September 2012) delivered by Lewes Football Club in partnership with SCL, a specialist education company established in 1999. The academic course provides a Level 2/3 VRQ (Vocationally Related Qualification) in Sport, and all that is required is a Grade C or above in GCSE Maths and English. For many students one great benefit of the VRQ Sports is that there are no examinations – results are based solely on course work.

That means that the Academy is a great way of combining a practical qualification, including the FA Level 1 Coaching Certificate (it also allows later entry onto a Foundation Degree), with top-level football coaching. Besides having a couple of hours lessons a day, players will train for up to 12 hours per week under the Lewes First Team & Academy Manager with regular matches against other Academies and Colleges. If players work hard and have talent at the football part, then they might follow some of the recent Youth Team into the Lewes FC First Team and even on to professional league contracts. But you will be expected to work equally hard at gaining your educational qualifications – this is no easy ride !

Why Join the Lewes FC Academy rather than any other one?

Because at Lewes, not only do players receive the highest quality coaching and teaching, but there is a genuine route through to First Team and even full-time professional football. This season, three youth team players have progressed into the First Team and two others have already signed professional forms with Brighton and Crystal Palace.

Pre-season training will be conducted alongside the First Team and Under-18’s, with a real opportunity to eventually progress to play in the Ryman Premier League.

Lewes Football Club itself is a very welcoming, not-for-profit, community-owned club with around 900 community owners. Rather like Barcelona, but a bit smaller.

    Who can join the Academy?

Open to talented footballers aged between 16–18 years, entry to the Academy Programme involves a playing trial. Places will not just be offered on playing ability, but also on having a great attitude too and to those who want to commit to a 2-year course. There are only 24 places available.

This is a great opportunity for talented footballers to develop their skills within a semi-professional environment and at the same time gain a useful academic qualification.

    What are the Costs?

Both the Football and Educational element of the Academy are fully funded and therefore there is no cost to take part in the programme. However, student players will need to fund their own travel costs for getting to training and lessons. If accepted into the Academy, there will also be a (subsidised) cost for purchasing training kit at the start of the season. Further details will be provided upon the player’s acceptance into the Football Academy.
