    What is The Football Academy?

    The Football Academy is a 2-year, full-time Education and Football Development programme delivered in partnership with Professional and Non-League Football Clubs.Open to talented footballers aged between 16–18 years, the Academy Programme is a must for any football enthusiast. A playing trial will be required as places will be offered based on playing ability.


    Why Join the Academy?

    Fisher have a long history in non-league football. Based in Bermondsey, south-east London, the club’s first team play in the Kent Hurlimann Football League. Fisher place an emphasis on developing talent from our community, giving talented young players the chance to progress with a real opportunity of progressing to first team football – in the first year of our academy programme, five academy players have appeared in our senior side.
    The Fisher FC academy has a philosophy of encouraging players to be creative, always look to play in all situations and to learn from mistakes made. We create and surround ourselves with a positive training environment with a firm code of conduct and work strictly with the players who possess the attitude and commitment to learn and progress into senior football.
    The educational aspect of the programme is as equally important and applicants to the academy must demonstrate a commitment to continuing their education as well as showing a passion for football development.

    The Academy Manager?

    UEFA-licensed Academy Head Coach Tom Rolt is an employee at Millwall FC Community Scheme and has an array of coaching experience working previously with the Millwall FC Boys and Girls Centres of Excellence. Tom has playing experience in senior football and has a passion for the club and the hunger to develop youth team players push them through the ranks.
    Assistant Coach Dan Milinar also boasts an extensive coaching and playing background and is currently the Director of the Girls Centre of Excellence at Millwall FC.

    Academy Football

    All academy players will receive daily training involving individual and team coaching from highly Qualified FA coaches affiliated to the football club.
    Players will receive guidance on individual football fitness, nutritional advice and a regular appraisal to monitor each player’s development both on and off the pitch. Players will have the opportunity to represent the football club through the Academy, Youth, College or Reserve Team, with the aim to progress into the first team or higher.


    Where will the Academy be held?

    The Football Academy offers a unique opportunity for players to train and study in an environment that will develop their academic and sporting performance. The Football development programme and Academic studies will be based at Burgess Park 3G, Albany Road, Camberwell. Here players will benefit from an excellent range of training facilities and a dedicated classroom for academic studies.
    What Education Programme will I study?


    Over the 2-year duration, players will study a variety of National Recognised Qualifications within the subject of Sport, Coaching & Fitness. Players will study the Diploma in Sport, delivered at Level 2 and 3 standard (A-Level equivalence), FA Coaching Qualifications together with core skills in Maths and English. Successful completion of the educational programme will enable players to follow pathways into Higher Education at selected Universities and employment opportunities within the Sport and leisure industry, including coaching placements and playing scholarships in America.


    Who will deliver the Academy Education?

    The club have linked with SCL, a Further Education and Work Based Training Provider, who will be responsible for the management and delivery of the educational element of the Academy. SCL currently work in partnership with many Sixth Form Schools, Further Education Colleges and Football Academies in the South of England and have over 10-years of experience successfully delivering vocational and academic sports based qualifications.
    The SCL team consist of highly qualified and experienced Teachers, Assessors, Verifiers and FA Coach Educators.


    What are the Costs?

    Both the Football and Educational element of the Academy is fully funded and therefore there is no cost to join the programme. There will be a subsidised cost for purchasing training kit at the start of the season. Further details will be provided upon the player’s acceptance into the Football Academy.
