If the answer is YES, and you are in Year 11 or Year 12 then

bring along your boots to our Under 18 trials during the first

week of the Easter break – March 30 to April 2^nd.

AFC Fylde and Blackpool and the Fylde College are running

an Academy to be based at the college from September 2015.

During half term we opened the doors to trialists with a number

being offered terms – and this is your chance to be involved

if you missed out first time around.

The trials and training will be administered by First Team

manager Dave Challinor and his assistant Colin Woodthorpe

who between them have over 1000 Football League

appearances between them and over 40 years’

experience as full time professionals. Assisting will

be development squad manager Alan Williams,

himself a skills coach and tutor for the FA.

First team goalkeeper coach Craig Dootson will

be on hand to put the goalkeepers through their

paces and pass on his professional experiences from

the full time game as well as coaching expertise from

his time with Leeds United FC. First team players

Matthew Blinkhorn, Dave Hankin, Liam Tomsett,

Danny Rowe and Adam Sumner will all be present

to cast their eyes over the talent and give advice and

help where required.

Finally, First Team Physiotherapists Steve Jackson

will be onsite all week to treat any niggles and look

after any first aid needs.

All of the trials will be videoed by our Video Analysis

team from UCLAN

The week long trials will be a mixture of training and

drills in the morning, with games in the afternoon.

We hope everyone can attend for the whole week to get a

taste and feel of AFC Fylde as a football club. If you aren’t

available for certain days this isn’t a problem but could you

just let us know when you express an interest so we

can revise the programme if necessary.

The Academy has been a great success since its

inauguration and allowed young players to develop and

progress not only to represent AFC Fylde’s First Team

but also achieve County and International Honours.
