How To apply...
Following the positive and proactive work of MTFC Sporting Director Ted Grizzell,
as well as the long term development focus of fellow coaching staff, playing
sides are rising from two to six teams for the 2014/15 season.
Along with the existing first team that will be pushing for a top 6 finish in the West Midlands
Regional premier league, there will also be new Under 21s and Under 18s teams
entering the West Midlands Division 2 and Midland Floodlit Youth League respectively.
Another boost for the club and community is the re-integration of Malvern Town
Ladies and also the continuation of the MTFC Boys Player Development Centre (PDC).
The PDC will have a full season long programme for local under 15s and a 6 week
pilot for under 13s.
Opportunities for interested players to get involved in this new and highly ambitious
Malvern Town setup comes in the form of the upcoming open trials taking place at
Dyson Perrins 4G Astro.
First team, Under 21 and Under 18 players open trials are on
Saturday 28th June from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
Ladies trials on Sunday 6th July 12.30 to 2.30pm.
Any interested players are to contact Ted Grizzell via
Along with the professional grade pitch that has been installed at The Langlands Stadium
there will also be the introduction of additional 'off-field' coaching staff to support the coaches.
These include a Sport Psychologist, Goalkeeping Coach, Physio and Video Analyst to make
use of the video technology that will be installed at the clubs home ground. HD cameras will
film home matches and as well as being shown live in the bar area they will also be
recorded and made available for analysis sessions to take place as part of training.
Sporting Director Ted Grizzell commented on the positive changes taking place, "We are all
very excited with the prospect of 6 different groups being part of the club next season and I
see it that anything we can do to help aid development and improve performance is only
going to be a good thing. It's a great time to be associated with the club and
another step closer to the long term goal of professionalising Malvern Town FC."
Following trials there will be a host of pre-season friendlies with some big names potentially
travelling to The Langlands to take on The Town. Look out for the final confirmed pre-season
fixture announcement later next week.
