FA COACHING BADGE ADVICE

    FA COACHING BADGE ADVICE

This is a copy of an email is sent to a recent student offering some  FA COACHING BADGE ADVICE

David it is not possible to do football FA badges online.

The fa do have courses online but these are basic and are more for parents and to do with child protection etc.

The level 1 takes a total of 4 days. which includes a first aid 3 hour and a child protection 3 hour workshop. When you have passed these in 3 years they offer the chance to renew them online but have to do the first one. Bsically to receive your badge you will have to show the certificate to show have done these courses then they can appropve your badge.

It is possible to do level 2 without level 1, but again my advcie would be to do level 1 first. Level 1 everyone pretty much passes and is the fa's way of getting you registered with them.

The level 2 is a little more difficault as it is the difference between a parent coaching and becoming serious about coaching.

I would allow 6 months to get your level 2, although it can be done in a few months, the average is between 6 months and a year to get. Reaon being is they show you what you got to do, then you have to go away and do that in your teams which can take months hence why the 30/60 hour coaching needed. Then you have to do the asseeement which is about 3 days. The reason why the course is so long is you have to be the players for the others on your course to do there assessment and they will be your pupils when you do yours. 24 players at 30 minutes adds up to a number of hours. The you have visit days to attend, etc and only half pass there level 2 anyway. To get a pro licence would take in total 10 years from now. The reason being is upon receiving your badge say for level 2 they wil give you 2 3 or 5 year time restrain on when you can do your next badge. So if you get your level 2, and they say do level 3 in 2 years, you cannot get booked on a level 3 course as you ahve to show your feedback and advice form.

    Hope this helps
