    TRIALS PAST

    AFC Bournemouth are offering under-9, under-10 and under-11 players born between the months of March and August the opportunity to be assessed by the club’s academy staff.

    The trials will take place on Wednesday 1st June at AFC Bournemouth Academy, Duck Lane, Bournemouth, BH11 9JJ.
     
    Across academies in England, recruitment is heavily skewed towards those born in the September to November months (45% of intake). This birth bias does not, however, exist in elite level senior football. 
     
    By offering sessions and trials specifically aimed at players born between March and August, AFC Bournemouth hopes to offer those born in the second half of the year the opportunity to showcase their potential.
     
    The hope is that players showing good potential will be able progress within the academy programme.
