Tell us about your football history (Min 50 words) : CURRENTLY : 2011 • I was also second top scorer in the Keele International Tournament in Manchester as a winger. I had clinched three crucial goals helping my team reach the plate finals. • While at Manchester, I also got spotted by Tottenham Scouts but unfortunately I was in the game and our team agent had gone to monitor the lower age group that had also accompanied us and I also missed on that as I was travelling back to Kenya the next day. • I was captain of the school team in Hillcrest Secondary School. • During the same year I was also appointed house captain of the school due to my good leadership skills and commitment to the sport. Later that year, the school offered me 150, 000 ksh to attend a soccer camp in Chicago. • In the United States International University, I am the youngest at the age of 16 and I am in the starting 11 • Later that year the Coach clearly noticed my punctuality, commitment and passion of the game and appointed me as Team Manager of the school team. I was the first youngest player to hold the position. 2010 • While Elite Soccer Academy, at my first season I had already scored a hat trick as a winger and I became top scorer as well. • I was also voted to be best young player and I was featured in the University’s newspaper during that year. • I was called to join the top Kenyan Premier League soccer club. (Gor Mahia FC) • Reached the Final in the Sakata Safaricom challenge for under 16. 2002-2009 • Won the Under 15 East African Tournament • Played for Elite Soccer Academy and score a Hatrick on my first appearance as a substitute at the 70th minute.
Write about your Playing Ability (Min 50 words) : I am a very good dribbler with intensive speed and i love the one two playing style. I take many long range shots of which I score a lot. I am 6ft tall thus my heading ability out of 10 is 8. I have the ability to read my midfielder’s mind and make crucial runs that make me a living nightmare to the defenders. I am often marked by two defenders because of my speed and dribbling skills. I am both footed as a matter of fact I can play both striking and left/right wing comfortably getting my positioning right in all aspects. I can also shoot and cross well with both feet and ball control is superb even under pressure at the penalty box. My favorite aspect of playing is cutting in from the wing and taking many shots towards goal to score or create rebounds for the strikers to finish. I have great composure and my main aim as I play the game is to always help my team win therefore I put the team before myself. I love to prove people wrong so when I am put under pressure I play even better and make sure that I laugh last.
Why should an Academy Director give you a trial (Min 50 words) : I believe hardwork beats talent. Nothing ever moves until you push it. I have great passion for soccer and I was once a player who was mocked by many in school. Some even made a group page on facebook saying how bad I was yet I wasn’t all I needed was one chance. I was never given a chance until one day when I proved them wrong as they saw me score a hatrick in less than 15 minutes in my academy, and I was the best player that season. Though, I am grateful for such an experience since it has made me stronger in the mind. I am player who is always ready to learn and that’s why I am never scared of failure. I am therefore just requesting for one chance, even though it means I only have 5 minutes of playing time, I will prove what am worth. I am very positive of what I am capable of as a player and I am sure of not disappointing you. Many say it’s impossible to that to become a professional soccer player since I come from Kenya but I tell them, let me be the first! I am ready to face the challenge.
