My main skill is in sports where I am predicted to achieve higher than most of my other subjects. I joined the school in 2008 and I am currently doing well in year 11. I enjoy playing football out of school, I first became a member of a football team at the age of six and since then I have had trails for Derby County and have trained for the development squad. Others football activities I have been apart of are; Playing for Bagthorpe athletic and winning the East Coast Trophy two years in a row, trophies presented by John Mcgovern and Des Walker, Playing at half time at Notts County, Winning fair play awards at Butlins for Underwood Villa, Trophies presented by Sir Geoff Hurst (England 1966 world cup winner), Invited by Alfreton town to play at Liverpool Academy for the Reece Jones memorial, I currently play for Jacksdale Welfare for under 18’s even though I am only 16. I have over 60 trophies from playing football, see attachment Another sport I have been successful in is cross country and 1500m, including; Eastwood District cross-country champion 2008, twice winner of Ashfield and District at 1500m, Winner at sports day at 1500m for 3 years, I have been selected by Bagthorpe, Holly Hill and Selston Arts and Community Collage for Harvey Hadden District 100m and 1500m. When I was in year seven, my P.E teacher chose me for Gifted and Talented. I went to Kirby Centre and Kings Mill Activity Centre for three days in the Easter holidays, to take part in Athletics, Trampolining, Pot Holing, Kayaking and Rock Climbing. I was then selected to go to Nottingham University Clifton site, to take part in a further sports competition. I received a gold score (which was the highest) and I was presented with my award by Richard Whitehead, Para Olympic Gold Medalist. I have also been a part of a cricket team for two years which was Selston Cricket Club, at age 13-14. When I was eight I passed my Amateur Radio Exam. I was one of the youngest in the country to achieve this qualification, which includes basic electronics, using equipment safely and sending and receiving Morse code. I was also a member of an Amateur Radio Club and had an article and photograph of my self in a magazine called Radcom. I have been able to communicate with people all over the world. Skills Profile: I am a good team player and leader some of the things that strengthen my skills are my determination, my stamina to keep going and my reliability. I have good practical skills since I am I hands on type of person. I am also a junior first aider and I am trained in CPR.I have a good understanding of peoples individual needs, and I am quite independent and able to manage my own life skills well. I am caring and compassionate and helpful to people in the local community I am very popular, have lots of friends of all ages and have very good social skills, I am very rarely ill and have an excellent attendance record. Bagthorpe athletic Sunday league, started around 2000 I started playing for them even though they were a year older than me, the trophies I have are: Festival of sport runners up. I also spent some of my time at Derby Development school and a short time at Forest.
Write about your Playing Ability (Min 50 words) : I am an allround player, I am able to play in most positions. I am able to use both left and right feet, am nimble on the ball, have good balance and pace. When I am in a match I always have the energy to keep going and not give up chasing the ball.
Why should an Academy Director give you a trial (Min 50 words) : An Academy Director should give me a trial due to the fact that I am hard working, loyal and skillfull. I am always punctual, regularly attend training and passionate about football. I am a creative and versitile player, who is popular with my peers. I will not disappoint the directors.
