Tell us about your football history (Min 100 words) : I started playing club football at about 11 years old. Always ending up as top goalscorer. However I didn't start playing club football for another year or so and when I did I was scoring around 2-4 goals per game. I have always played for the the older year groups and when I was in year 10 I was playing for the year 13's and was holding my own and still playing well. I was invited in to trial with Peterborough United and ended up playing for them, same with Cambridge United. Unfortunately I wasn't offered anything. At U17 level I drew quite a lot of attention with Norwich and Ipswich tracking me and Norwich contacting me asking me for fixtures I was playing at and they came to watch me a couple of times. I got called up to represent Norfolk County and ended up playing for them which was an honor. I received a call from Kevin Scott, Stoke's recruitment officer and was invited in for a 1 week trial with Stoke however for one reason or another Kevin was unable to bring me in which was heartbreaking.
Write about your Playing Ability (Min 50 words) : I am 6 feet 3 inches with a very muscular physique. As a result I make a very good target man and hold up the ball very well allowing me to bring players into play. In addition to my physical prowess I am also a very quick player which allows me to run in behind defenders and beat them for pace. I am also a UK champion at high jump having won the English Schools Athletics Championships jumping 1.90m. My ability to jump high helps me in the air winning aerial balls.
Why should an Academy Director give you a trial (Min 50 words) : I feel I should be given a trial because I have the ability to succeed at the top level and have been quite unfortunate not to be at a club at the moment as I live in Norfolk where there is only 1 professional club who had a look at me when I was younger and made a decision. In addition to that, I also attended a strict boarding school for all of high school and college so was unable to play club football bu yet I was still able to get notice from Premier League, Football League and Conference clubs such as Stoke, Norwich, Peterborough and Cambridge despite not even playing for a club. I feel many clubs desire what I have to offer in terms of my physical ability and attributes and the presence I create upfront. I am not the finished article and I know it, I just have a great deal of untapped potential and need a club to bring out the best in me. The truth is - i'm an athlete, a total athlete who has the ability to score goals. With a club taking me in and working with me, I know and am confident they would unleash and obtain something truely special.
