Tell us about your football history (Min 100 words) : I have played football for as long as I can remember, since I could walk basically with people of a range of ability and ages, alot of the time playing with older players. I have always played for localsunday/ saturday league clubs and my school team up until the age of 16 when I left school and then carried on to play for local saturday league clubs since. I am currently playing for a team that my friends set up that developed from a "Kickabout" on a sunday and has resulted in us growing the squad and recently finished our first season together, with good feedback from opposing clubs considering we have not been playing together for long.
Write about your Playing Ability (Min 50 words) : In the past, as a younger child, I was never the loudest player on the pitch but always strove to lead by example, however didn't always have the sufficient self confidence in my ability to maybe make myself more noticeable with different qualities as well as footballing ability despite being told that I was a good player by all of my coaches through playing football for different teams. This in turn, made me hesitant to play with as much freedom, and made me stick to the plan for the team and have a totally unselfish attitude when playing football which I believe is a good quality and essentially how it should be played, but that the best players still have that touch of arrogance to try something new, flamboyant, risky etc. In later years, I realised that I could hold my own with the best in my neighbourhood and local leagues, this in turn, gave me the confidence to play with more freedom and do what felt right at the time and have that certain spontaneity which shows in my play upto this day, whilst always still doing the simple things on the pitch that need to be done primarily. Throughout my life in terms of playing football, the feedback that I generally got from a young age of between 5 -10 years old and onwards, in concern to specific abilities when playing football were my ability to pick out a pass and my range of passing, vision, anticipation of play, my first touch and general technique. In concern to passing, people have always fed back that my ability to cross a ball accurately and differently depending on the need of the situation has been outstanding from a very young age, whether from a corner or open play, which goes toward most of my managers playing me as a winger/ wingback. These are the main abilities that I can think of aside from determination and willingness to work for the team that I am playing for, which I believe every player should have. A quote that I was proud of that one of my managers wrote about me in the programme that was given out when playing a Cup Final at Halton Stadium, Runcorn was as follows; "Nathan has one of the best first touches that I have seen which seems to come naturally to him. He is also a player who can influence a game or change a game from the bench and is willing to do both for the good of the team without question " this was when I was 17years old. I know this is what I've already said but it was nice to see some of it on paper and that my manager appreciated it and further pointed it out to spectators.
Why should an Academy Director give you a trial (Min 50 words) : I believe that I should be given a trial, as I am willing to do whatever it takes to play football at some level. I am currently in a training regime to regain full fitness as my playing time last season was hindered due to a strain that I suffered in pre-season and persisted to try to play on due to the lack of numbers in the squad and my determination to play for the team. As the squad got stronger, this gave me a chance to recover properly and go about it the right way rather than doing too much too soon. This has happened and like I said, I am now just in the process of getting back to maximum fitness in order to make playing football that much more enjoyable and therefore be able to concentrate on always learning and developing myself as a footballer. My regime includes training in my own time as well as for our team and also have recently started training down at my local boxing gym to increase my Cadiovascular training further. In closing, if given a trial the opportunity to show my ability in person would be so greatly appreciated and you can rest assured that every word of advice would not be in vein and would be taken on board, appreciated and galvanise me to do better. I would take it away and try to use it to develop myself and am always open to advice. I know it sounds like a cliché, but I would give 110% and absolutely relish an opportunity like this, to be able to train in such a footballing environment on a regular basis would only enhance myself as a footballer and a person, because I truly love football at all levels. I hope to hear from you in the future to at least have the chance to cease an opportunity like this, as I was thrilled to find this website to be able to put across my enthusiasm. I hope I have done this in words as well as I can whilst still trying to portray my professionalism, I can only ask for the chance to show my ability on a physical level in trial form. If given a chance then you can at least know that it would not be a trial place wasted, and know that I would truly relish the chance. Thank you for your time to read this, to even know that it has been considered.
