Write about your football history : My greatest achievement to date was at Wembley November 2014 where I won the U18 Search for an Asian Football Star competition. I reached the final 32 after progressing through the regional trials with over 500 participants. I was voted Player of the Year at my first club Preston United FC in July 2011 during my first full season as a goalkeeper. I have played amateur level since 2010 and currently play adult level for Walmer Bridge FC in the Mid Lancashire Football League. I also represent Cardinal Newman College FC since 2013. I have trained and played with Ashton Athletic FC at semi pro level, for their reserves team in the North West Counties Premier League in 2013.
Write about your Playing Ability : I am a calm and confident goalkeeper, agile and quick. My techniques and skills set is of improving and high quality, and am comfortable with the ball in my hands or at my feet. I am a vocal and active goalkeeper, with a strong character and judgement qualities. I train twice a week in one to one sessions with my goalkeeper coach Lewis Bishop at Just4Keepers Academy. I also attend two group training sessions a week. He pushes me to my limits and knowing my career ambition, targets and develops my fitness and strength as well as my skills and techniques as a goalkeeper. I have developed, improved and am more confident in my performances and determined to get better. As an individual I am more attentive, focused and responsible. As a team player I am a better communicator, organiser and leader. I also support and lead in coaching sessions when required to our J4K group.
Why should an Academy Director give you a trial : I am looking to join a professional club academy or youth development programme to train and play football. My objective is to become the first British Asian professional goalkeeper to play in the Premier or Football League. I understand it is a big and unique ambition, but I am 100% committed in my desire to achieve it and prepared to work as hard as it takes to realise it. I have been taught an honest and simple ethic - Dream Big, Work Hard, Be Humble. I am not here to waste anyone’s time. If someone shows their faith in me to give me a chance, I promise to work hard and succeed and not let them down.
