Tell us about your football history (Min 100 words) : I have been playing football since the age of 5. I went to Danegrove primary school and then to East Barnet secondary school. During all this time I have played for different junior clubs like whetstone wonderers and Finchley revolution. Upon completing my secondary school I went to Oakland’s college in St Albans where I have been at up to now. I doing sports Science and have achieved NCFE Level 1 & 2 in volunteering and the principles of coaching respectively. I train every day to keep myself fit. I have recently done some trials through scout me 3 times so far and each time have scored. I am really passionate and would go an extra mile given an opportunity.
Write about your Playing Ability (Min 50 words) : I keep myself fit by training and practicing every single day and make sure I eating the right food. I don't smoke or drink alcohol. I practice for endurance and push myself to the limit. I am a right back but recently have been playing more forward. I have received positive feedback from my recent trials which specifically pointed out my performance and acknowledged the goal I scored. I am a man on man player.
Why should an Academy Director give you a trial (Min 50 words) : I believe that I have what it takes to be a professional footballer. I have the passion and I am focused in becoming what I want to be. I have always known what I want to be and that is to become a footballer. I practice so much and I know that if given a chance I will make the club proud. I am a team player. That is why I went to Oakland’s College and I have just been called back to play in the team. I will be most grateful just to be given the opportunity by the Academy Director to show my skill and passion. I recently attended trials in Cardiff and received positive player assessment. I played as attacking midfielder and scored. My assessment was as follows: George Jumbo Attacking midfielder with a good burst of pace who showed some good close control and played some decent passes in attacking build up play. In possession of the ball he looked comfortable but tended to drift in and out of the game. At times he was too far forward and his positioning meant that he was not enough to the midfield to receive the ball. When in possession his passing was solid and he did try to keep it simple. When he did drop deeper George impressed on a couple of occasions by picking up the ball, driving forward into space. He also scored a good goal with a decent finish. To improve George needs to be more vocal and find a way of demanding the ball and keep involved in the game. By dropping slightly deeper and being close to the midfield, this would allow him to be a passing option more often and have a bigger impact.
