Write about your football history : I always believed I started playing football in my mother's womb but in reality, I first kicked a ball at age 4. My father was a football lover and once joked that he would have married football if he had not fallen in love with my mother. He wanted me to become a professional footballer and so he enrolled me at Weekend Soccer Academy which was run by the legendary Paul Hamilton who is a retired Nigerian international. My progress through the youth ranks was quick and at age 8, was already captain of the under 10 team. I attended Corona Primary School Gbagada and played for the senior team for 3 years despite joining as a junior. At grade 5, I decided to enter secondary school and finished as the highest goal scorer in Corona history with 10 senior goals. I was also voted best player at the inter team football competition for two consecutive years and finished highest goal scorer in both occasions. In 9th grade, I was called up to my schools high school team but had to wait 6 months till I made my debut.By 10th grade I had established myself as an undisputed first team player. As I played more I began to learn more. I began to learn that football was filled with ups and downs, there were moments when things would go your way and other moments when things wouldn't go as planned. My first heartbreak came in the finals of the Chief Oladele Olashore Cup. We lost 5-4 on penalties to our arch rivals and I so happened to miss the first spot kick.I was devastated, people were disappointed. We had gained fanatics along the way with our mesmerizing football, only to fall at the end. At just the tender age of 13, I was determined to bounce back even with all the pain I had to endure. At this time, I was a left winger but the coach felt I would contribute more to the team if I was played as a striker. That was how I became a striker. We had to wait two full years to get our revenge and in the end, we beat our rivals 3-2 in extra time and this time I scored the first of our goals.I was then voted best player in the competition. In 11th Grade I had the opportunity to travel to the United States to attend the Volgelsinger Summer Soccer School Program were I excelled in all areas of the game.By graduation, I had scored 24 goals for the school team in just 20 appearances. This is excluding the goals I scored participating in intra mural soccer competitions. After graduation, I joined Heriot Watt University in Scotland to study Chemical Engineering. Initially I had played with the under 19s but the coach informed me it would be better if I played with the first team and under 21s , so I would play with people almost as good as I was.My displays caught the eyes of Hearts of Midlothian who then offered me trials .The team is currently under administration and believe it would be best if I went somewhere else as they do not have the financial strength to pull a deal off. Nevertheless, I have continued to train with them whenever I have the opportunity to.
Write about your Playing Ability : I molded my game play after my idol Thierry Henry. I enjoy coming deep to receive the ball because I'm good with both feet and dribble exceptionally well. I also run the flanks to help push the attacking midfielders further up the park. I also play as a target man when the ball is played in the air because of my aerial ability. I can also play as a winger efficiently with the pace I have to burn and my crossing ability.Coaches and people who have seen me play tell me I'm one of the very few young players who can do what I can with a ball.
Why should an Academy Director give you a trial : I believe I am the last of my kind which is the same way the world has only seen and there will only be one Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima. It has been my dream and that of my whole village to see me become a professional footballer.I know that if I am given the opportunity, I would more than excel. I would be a surprise gift to any club that can offer me that platform to shine
