Tell us about your football history (Min 50 words) : I have loved football since the day I kicked the ball at the age of 6. I've now been playing for ten years and develop as a player ever hour I put in on the training ground, I started off my carrer at a amateur club called Pennar Robins, nothing big but everyone has to start somewhere. I trained once a week with Pennar always trained my hardest to develop the basic skills at an early age, and even then most nights id go out in my back yard and practice my passing against the wall or go up the field and practice long passing by trying to get the ball in the bin. We've all tried these things at some point in our lives but I constantly practiced this over and over again as an alternative to watching the television over and over again. So I played for Pennar from the age of 6-11, competing in several juniour leagues season after season to try and be part of a successful team. Although at this age I was always more intrested in training and trying to better my skills rather than winning games. Then at the age of 11 it became a little bit more serious as I joined Kilgetty AFC and was picked as captain for the forthcoming season. I was now playing on a full sized pitch and a game that would last all those extra minutes so the first thing I decided to was to go for a run twice a week to develop my cardiovascular endurance as I knew my first season was going to be tough. I was also picked to represent my County this season which was a great achievement for me at a personal level. So I continued to train hard, running twice a week, training once a week for Kilgetty and once a week for my County and playing a competitive match every Saturday and Sunday for club and County, sounds like a tough workload I know, but its all i wanted to do, football, football, football. The season was going great, but in the Febuary 2008, I was diagnosed Type 1 Diabetic, seemed like a big deal at the time and i was out of action for a few weeks which is a devastating blow for me being so dedicated to the sport. So im now 16 and still playing in my last season at Kilgetty AFC which has been a great couple of years for me, this year I have developed from My County too The Harfordwest County Academy Under 16's which is the academy of the Semi-Profesional Team Harfordwest County. I have also been training with the Youth 18's Squad which a great experience as I will be playing for these in the 2013/2014 season after leaving Kilgetty AFC who have been great too me, as I am going to focus playing at higher level.
Write about your Playing Ability (Min 50 words) : Without coming across as cocky or bigheaded, i believe to make it at the highest level you have to be confident in your own abilities and i'd like to think I am the most dangerous winger in my County at my age to defend against. I have great pace to get up and down the wing using it to my advantage when defending aswel as attacking. I then combine that with close control to be nippy and make a defenders time a nightmare, after years of training on my passing I would like to think I am very accurate wih my short and long passing which contributes a lot of the time to the creation of goals aswel as my drilled crossing ability across the face of goal. Im not just a dainty winger, I do possess abit of power about myself, at 5'9 and 65kg im not easily pushed of the ball and always willing to put in a strong, hearty tackle if need be. One of my strongest abilities is my mentality, I do like to make myself heard on the pitch, always filled with encouragement for my team mates even when things arnt going our way, a real character upon the pitch so to speak. After being a captain for 5 years I have those leadership skills needed on the pitch to pull the team through a tough game. Aswel as all these positives no player is perfect and this is why I still put the hours in on the training ground, my shooting is average although is becoming much stronger with the constant practice of hitting targets in my back yard and shooting at a goal, another weakness I am currently working at in my hours of training is the use of my left foot. I am naturally right footed and therefore my left foot has been left behind slighty but not drasticly as I can use it to pass and dribble with. Everybody loves the attacking side to football, but we must not forget about how important defending is, therefore in my opinion the advantage to having me in your team is that im adaptable, I can play almost everywhere on the pitch apart from goalkeeper of course, but right back is one of my stronger postions as I possess great positional awareness and i know how to defend against a good winger when I see one. Finally, after so many years of hardwork and dedication I have developed the mentality to never stop working and always try my hardest on the pitch whatever the situation which I think is a key feature to a players attributes.
Why should an Academy Director give you a trial (Min 50 words) : I think an Academy Director should give me a trial because where I live we certainly are not gifted with opportunities, we are never scouted in Pembrokeshire as it is such a unknown area which is a definate shame because there is bags of talent here. However, the reason why I beileve Im different to other individuals in my area is that I love football, there isn't a day I go through my life that doesn't involve football. Also I believe that I am good enough to play at a higher standard than im currenty playing at, the stage im at now in my carrer cannot improve unless I get an offer to attend a trial at a proffesional club, because of where I live its as far as it goes in terms of standard and I just want that chance to prove my abilities and potential against the best players in the UK.
