Tell us about your football history (Min 100 words) : I am a British expat living in Dubai, UAE and have been playing football in multi-national and multi-cultural teams both at school and as an extra curricular activity since I was 6 years old. At primary school (Dubai English Speaking School) I played for the school football team from 2007 – 2009. At secondary school (Dubai College) I was selected for the school ‘A’ team in Year 7, 8, 9 and also in my current Year, 10. At the same time I have played for a number of clubs outside school: I currently play for Haddad FC in the Dubai Amateur Football League (DAFL). I have also played for Precor UAE U16s (2013); Adastra FC U15s (2012); Arsenal Soccer School, Dubai (selected for the U18 Development Squad) 2013; Glenn Hoddle Academy, Dubai (selected for U15 Elite Development Program) 2012. I have participated in a number of tournaments such as The Dubai Junior Football League (2011-2012); the Jebel Ali Football league ( 2009-2102); the Doha College Sports Exchange in Qatar (2012) and more recently the Dubai International Super Cup. (2013, 2014) I have also attended training camps in Dubai, UK and Croatia: AFC Ajax Training Camp, Apr. 2013 – won ‘Player With The Most Potential’ Award; Arsenal Soccer School, UK July 2013; Manchester United Soccer School, UK, July 2012. I won this all expenses paid week’s training in the DU/Manchester United Soccer School Competition. I was one of 10 players selected from 1000 participants in a competition held over 2 days in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Last year I attended a weeks’ training at the Akademi Krpan & Babic in Osijek, Croatia and will be returning there in June for further training and to participate in a tournament as a player for Haddad FC U16s. I have played in a number of positions, most recently centre back and my preferred position which is central mid field both attack and defence.
Write about your Playing Ability (Min 50 words) : I am above all a team player both on and off the pitch. My coaches and teachers have consistently commented on my ability to lead a group and I use this to good effect on the pitch, directing my team-mates without dominating them. I bring both mental and physical strength to the game. On the pitch, I am a thoughtful, intelligent and strategic player, able to remain calm and perform well under pressure. Physically, I am well built and strong (selected to play on the Dubai College Rugby A Team 2010- 2013 when I dropped rugby to concentrate on football); I am fast ( member of the Dubai College ‘Fab 5 Athletics Team 2010- present, 100m sprinter and 400m relay runner); I play equally well using my left and right foot. In central mid field I am a key member of the team in both attacking and defending phases during the game.
Why should an Academy Director give you a trial (Min 50 words) : The opportunities for players over the age of 16 in Dubai are limited. In order to reach my full potential I need access to UK football club trials and exposure to UK footballs scouts. I am a committed, dedicated and determined footballer with a positive attitude and, as outlined above, a proven track record as an outstanding player. I believe these qualities would make me an asset to any club.
