    TONYS SOCCER SCHOOL - MORE TROPHY SUCCESS

    With the season end fast approaching it was Football League Finals day, of which Tonys Soccer School/Mil Palmeras enjoyed more than its fair share of silverware success, and allowed some of our teams, Players and Parents the chance to enjoy the success of Finals Day 2011.

    This Saturday capped another fantastic year for Tonys Soccer School, as Mil Palmeras ran out deserved Cup Winners in a thrilling encounter, on finals day at Algorfa. Following on from last seasons unbeaten Champions, Mil Palmeras secured more League silverware with an excellent game against hot favourites Redovan.

     

    Mil Palmeras through Ben Naylor went into an early lead inside the first minute, but Redovan, who are known for producing quality sides scored 3 goals in quick succession, only for Ben Naylor to grab another for Mil Palmeras to make it 3-2 to Redovan at the break.

     

    Then the changes came and Paolo Webb in defence held strong as Tiandra Anderson ran through to grab an equalizer to make it 3-3. Mil Palmeras went 4-3 up following fine play from under aged David Milton Stamm, only to be pegged back again making it 4-4 with 3 minutes to go.

     

    Diego Sheffield had very little to do but was amazing, infront of fantastic parents James & Romina. Then following a break away and with the crowd going wild, Mil Palmeras received a deserved free kick from 25 yards out.

     

    The pressure was on and with time running out, Mil Palmeras Tigers roared into action, up stepped Ben Naylor, with a winning determination written on his face. The crowd was willing him to score, and as cool as a cucumber stepped forward, and shot, the ball curved amazingly around the wall, as the crowd helds it breath, then...... wham! the ball struck the back of the Redovan net, to send the Mil Palmeras players and parents into a frenzy, and tears of Joy. Ben Naylor had won the Cup for Mil Palmeras, a day that will live long in the memories of these fantastic Players and parents alike.

    More silverware was grabbed by Mil Palmeras at the finals presentation of the league standings, this time it was the turn of the Alevins age group which is for Under 11's. Mil Palmeras had participated in the Cup competition over the last few weeks and secured 3rd place, with a number of successful wins, recently.

    Although this was a surprise for the team it showed the hard work the team coaches and managers had put in, had been well worth it. Well Done everyone.

    Mil Palmeras went all season losing just 2 games and secured Runners Up spot in the league for ages u10's. Following on from last seasons Champions this side continued a winning mentality, and were just pipped on the last day of the season, with a defeat to Sheffield.

    But a great season had by all, and the players received there trophies at the presentation ceremony on Saturday. Well Done.

    Mil Palmeras Under 16's Cup Winners 2011.

    This week in the mens league at Pilar, a large crowd see our youth side win the Fairs Cup Final 7-5 on Thursday, adding to the recents success of the all the Mil Palmeras teams. Captains Table had already secured the League Title, and The Bookies had won the League Cup, with a thrilling 8-7 win over Captains to prevent Captains Table from doing the Double

     

    Montesinos beat La Manga on pentalties to secure the remaining Cup place, in what has proved to be the most thrilling of times for the mens Adult League. Montesinos drew 8-8 with La Manga, and credit goes to Craig Divers, Craig Coxall for there recent improved displayers.

     

    Shane North received the League Trophy, along with Steve Monk Dalton, and James Lee all from Captains Table. John Halliday received the League Cup on behalf of the Bookies. To play Mens League Football telephone League Director on 678955501.
