Profile JOE MELLARS
I am a 16 years old football player, with 10 years of playing experience.
I am currently playing as an attacking right/wing back or in
Centre midfield. Until this season I have predominately played
as a striker, but I am now comfortable playing as an attacking or
defensive central midfielder & right back. I am a very versatile
player who can cover most positions comfortably this has benefited
me in being called up to play for Herefords

I am a vocal leader on and off the pitch; I have a professional attitude

Testimonials
Brian Dutton Sparsholt Academy coach 14/6/16
It is a credit to the boys to be willing to travel 2 hours to showcase
their talents a year before they are eligible for the college. It was very
difficult for me to make a detailed assessment and judgement on any
player that day, as my eyes were shared on all 22 players as much as
possible during the match. I would usually watch a player twice or
three times before I make a definite judgement on him. What I saw
on the day was that the two boys acquitted themselves very well.
Joe centre midfielder showed an excellent attitude to try and get on
the ball and make things happen, also great character to wish to
take the penalty and tuck it away just as confidently with good technique.
His starting position in central midfield was very high at times, from a
coaching point of view I would ask him to stay behind the ball more
and support play more before taking up advanced positions.
His all round game seemed clean and he showed good intensity in
there, making tackles playing forward passes so plenty of positives.

Coach of Perth Glory NPL U20's teamand Perth Glory's Women's team 20/04/16
When I had the pleasure of meeting Joe one thing struck me straight
away is how focused Joe is.
His willingness to learn was second to non, he has good technical
ability and can play with no problems at all.
If ever in Australia again Joe would be more than welcome to join
us in training at Perth Glory and who knows maybe as a pro footballer.

RE: Joe Mellars U16s 2016/17 season.
Joe is currently going into his second season as a County player off
the back of contributing to another Welsh Cup winning season in
2015/16 Season.Joe has made huge strides over the last year and
has cemented his place in the County team playing alongside current
Welsh u16 players and Cat 1 and 2 players. He has a fantastic attitude
to training and this shows on the pitch. He is one of the fittest players
we have and played in 100% of matches throughout a tough season.
As a player, Joe has worked tirelessly to improve his all round game.
He is technically a very good player with a fine range of passing and
an eye for goal. He can play in a number of positions and does so
with ease and with no fuss.
Joe has the potential to develop further and with the help of further
training and more regular games would be an asset to any team.
We look forward to working with Joe for the forthcoming season and
know he will contribute greatly to what will no doubt be an interesting
season ahead.
