LIAM HURLEY, MANFORD WAY, GREAT FOOTBALL BACKGROUND

Full Name : Liam Michael Christopher Hurley
    Date of Birth : 15/02/1994
    Your Nationality : English
    Best Position : Left Midfielder
    Current Club : Manford Way
Previous Clubs : Redbridge United, Redbridge FC (Redbridge FC formed into Manford Way to compete at Eastern Alliance level)
Which Club you want a trials for : Any Club. I just wish to be given a fair and honest trial in which my ability & potential is recognised by those watching. Preferably a championship/Premier league club.
    Your County : Essex
    Country you live : England

Tell us about your football history (Min 50 words) : Since the age of 3 I have been playing football. My father was an ex West Ham youth player working under Ron Greenwood, so my family pedigree for football is evident. I started off as a goalkeeper, and have since worked my way through every position. I currently play left midfield at Manford Way, although I have been used as a utility player for the past 3 seasons. My best goal scoring season was 76 from left midfield, scoring in the Redbridge, Essex and London Cup Final, as-well as helping my team win the Eastern Alliance in an unbeaten season. I am most comfortable playing Left back & Left midfield, but I Can slot in easily in the centre of midfield. Representing Essex (and being the only non academy player) was a huge achievement for me. Coaches described me as 'A Smaller Roy Keane', something I am hugely proud of.

Write about your Playing Ability (Min 50 words) : Being 5ft8, my height isn't my biggest asset, but my speed and athleticism is. I am extremely fast, my fastest 100m time being clocked at 10.88 in 2010. Being left footed, I am seen as somewhat 'predictable' but my unpredictability is probably my greatest ability. I am fearless when going forward, selfish if needs be and have an extremely powerful shot. (My hardest shot being registered at 74mph at the David Beckham Academy) I am calm & collected with the ball at my feet, and can play 'killer' passes with either foot.I was described at a football tournament by a Portsmouth coach as ' An old school, bread and butter player'. I'm not afraid to 'get stuck in' nor do I mind being on the end of a crunching tackle.

Why should an Academy Director give you a trial (Min 50 words) : I am highly ambitious. I feel I have been unfortunate in my career as 'bigger and more athletic' boys have been selected ahead of me with very little footballing talent. Since a very young age all I have ever dreamed of is being a successful footballer. Money is not the motive for me, playing the sport I have a real desire and love for is. I am extremely ambitious, and as things stand, my life has taken a turn for the worse with football being my only release. As my school grade's have dropped, my footballing ambition has only increased. I feel as if this is my last chance to attain a professional contract. I really hope my talent's are noticed by whoever it may be. Thankyou in advance for considering my application.
