YALANY BAIO LIVERPOOL FC ACADEMY PLAYER

Yalany Cuino Baio (born 10 October 1994) is a Bissau-Guinean footballer who plays for the Liverpool Academyas a midfielder.

Liverpool recruited the highly-rated Baio from Portugal in January 2011. He made his step up to the under-18s for the 2011-12 season and made an immediate name for himself with some spectacular pre-season goals. He is currently one of the maistays of the under-18s starting XI and is tipped for a bright future in the game.

Despite his short stature, Baio is well regarded as an aggressive, tough-tackling defensive midfielder. He has stated that he models his game on his idol, former Chelsea and Real Madrid star Claude Makelele.
