Lincoln City Latest Trials

Lincoln City Academy on occasions hold open trials for players in the Under 6s, U7s, 8s, 9s, 10s, 11s, 12s, 13s and all age groups.

Further to the ongoing success of the first team and academy over the past, we are delighted to be able to offer local players the opportunity to attend trials for the Academy. We encourage players to attend that live within one hour of our Academy Training Ground at Riseholme College, Showground Campus, Horncastle Lane, LN1 2ZR.

Lincoln City Football Development Programme Trials

The club uses three methods of recruiting;

Access to the Youth Academy via referral from the Lincoln City Football Development Programme, which offers coaching from under 4-16yrs).

The programme offers Football Development training opportunities for all local children who are keen to learn and develop as players in a professional youth development training environment.

The Open Development Centres also act as the first step on to the Lincoln City FC player development pathway which offers a route in to the clubs Advanced Development Centres, Elite Development Squads and the clubs Academy for those players who develop and constantly improve as players.

Whilst Academy Football is a dream of many young players we are very keen as a club to offer appropriate development opportunities to all players where ever they are currently at on their playing journey as we are very aware all players develop technically, physically, socially and psychologically at different times and we are very keen to support all players in maximising their potential as players over the long term.

Birmingham City Official Player Recruitment Process

The player recruitment department is tasked with the monitoring, selection and transition of players operating outside of our Academy environment. The recruitment team will work collectively with our coaches to prioritise the identification of players within the three phases of the player pathway.

The priority of the department is to recruit, develop and produce players able to reach the Academy’s core purpose. This process is player centered, focusing on the identification of players able to excel in one or more of the four corners associated to player development and, where possible predominantly recruit from a catchment area within an hour of Birmingham. The strategy will be collaborative in nature, planned and aligned to the profiles through each of the development phases where appropriate.

PRE-ACADEMY

The Pre-Academy is a development programme designed to identify, assess and nurture local talented individuals between 6 - 8 years of age. The primary aim is to develop technically gifted individuals for our U9’s squads who become accustomed to the club’s culture and playing philosophy through weekly training sessions and games, allowing for an easy transition into the Academy way of life. The major emphasis of the programme is technical development. With the use of the clubs training facilities, and a structured coaching syllabus and games programme, our UEFA qualified Academy staff seek to increase player to ball contact time in a fun, inclusive and professional environment.

COMMUNITY TRUST

The Club has a very large Community Trust scheme operating a number of local coaching programmes. The Community Trust run a shadow squad programme for U12-U14 players participating on a weekly basis in a number of local grass root leagues. There is also a full time programme for the U17-U19’s.

Players from within the Community Trust programme can be directly recommended by a member of staff for a trial period. In addition to this, each Community Trust coach working within the shadow squad and on the U17-19 programme acts as a spotter, recommending opposition players they have seen in the fixtures that their respective teams have participated in.

SCHOOLS FOOTBALL PROGRAMME

Within the West Midlands area there is a thriving schools football programme. Through community links, it has been identified that there are some young players who only participate in schools’ football and may not be observed participating in local grass root fixtures. There are a number of reasons for this, the most common being a recent move to the area or little/no parental support.

The Academy continually supports West Midland District Schools at both primary and secondary level allowing the use of the training facilities for prestigious games in their calendar. School staff are also invited to Academy CPD events in order to aid their development as coaches. This relationship means there is the opportunity for talented players who are identified by school staff to be recommended directly to the Recruitment Manager/Officer. This may lead to an observation, and if suitable, an invitation to the Academy trial process.

At Bradford City Academy there has been significant developments in the recruitment process in the recent years, as Bradford City continues to recruit young players with great potential to enter our Academy and works towards becoming part of the first team squad.

Bradford City Academy have a network of scouts covering the surrounding areas, they are always on the lookout for talented young footballers who have the determination and drive to become great footballers.

Development Centre (U7 – U10)

At Bradford City we are devoted to selecting out potential future young players as soon as possible. This is accomplished by identifying and recruiting talented footballers aged 6/7/8 from grass roots clubs, school football and recommendations. Our scouts play a vital role in selecting and putting forward the players to the Development Centres.

Once the player has enrolled into one of our Development Centres, they are entered into a structured programme that is aimed at bringing out there full potential, while giving them the enjoyment of playing football as part of a recognised Development Centre. The development centre is a pathway into the Academies Elite Centre, but this does not mean guaranteed entry, however we are confident every player will benefit from there time spent in the Development Centres, with a improved vision of the game, along with nurturing there playing abilities.

Elite Centre (U6 – U9)

The Elite Centre is based at Woodhouse Grove, along with all first team and academy activities. The centre is an excellent place for those “Elite” boys to improve and develop their ability with opportunities for the U9’s to make the step up to the Academy. The younger players began to develop relationships with fellow players whilst getting a feel for the environment and coaches, all who work within the academy.

The Academy (U9 – U16)

Scouting continues at all age groups, we are always looking for potential players to join our Academy. Similar to the Development Centre, the scouts are attempting to identify players who have the potential and ability to become great football players.

Recommendations and Trials

At Bradford City we are always looking for young players who have the potential to become great football players, we hold open trials twice a year, in May and October. Details regarding trials are posted on the website a month before they are due to take place.

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN FC ACADEMY OFFICIAL TRIAL AND APPLICATION TO ACADEMY

Here is the application for the Huddersfield Town Academy. Whilst Open trials are hard to come by you must make an initial application to an academy to either be invited in for a trial or to get a football scout to come and watch you play. We cannot promise you will get scouted this time, but we always encourage to send in a playing CV.

Professional clubs are trained and educated and also must adhere to FA guidelines to scout players. So the club must be honest and give everyone an opportunity allowing them the chance to read a players CV/ability and this is the guidelines you must follow to make that initial contact.

The club’s Academy of Light opened its doors in 2003 and is rightly considered amongst the best football training facilities in Europe.

The club’s players have access to magnificent facilities, including a hydrotherapy pool, top-class medical care and an indoor barn featuring a 4G synthetic pitch as well as up to 18 outdoor pitches.

The low-profile buildings are deceptive – the lower floor is completely below ground level and packs in more than can be imagined from the outside!

It’s a far cry from the club’s previous training ground, the Charlie Hurley Centre, which was made up of temporary buildings including an old cricket pavilion.

The Academy aims to be professional, approachable and friendly and will give young players the best chance to develop on the pitch as well as socially and academically.

We have a responsibility to develop young players in a challenging, safe and supportive environment with committed and experienced members of staff.

A system is in place which allows young players to progress to the first-team squad if they are prepared to work hard, be open-minded and stay committed.

All full-time scholars embark on an Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE). The apprenticeship is comprised of a Level 3 NVQ Diploma plus an educational component. 

Most scholars will study for a BTEC Level 3 in Sport as part of their education and this is equivalent to two A-Levels.

The scholars also graduate from the Academy, whether to the professional game or elsewhere, with a referee’s qualification and an FA Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football.

The Academy is home to all the club’s representative teams, from the youngest age groups through to the U18, U21 and senior squads as well as the Sunderland Ladies team.
