Liverpool FC Legend Ronnie Whelan Presents Football Awards
Ex Liverpool Football Club and Eire international Proffessional Footballer Ronnie Whelan, was on hand this week to reward the brightest young stars at the impressive Tony's Soccer School. Over recent weeks players aged 5 to 16 have enjoyed participating in the popular Soccer Schools here on the Orihuela Costa, and Ronnie Whelan presented them all with there winners trophies at the Sporting Dinner Club, Orihuela event.
Awards for player improvement were awarded to Sam Halliday, Jake Scott, Lucia Daly, Oliver Chapman & Paige Pickford. The trophies are for there hard work and persistance in wanting to improve there soccer Skills.
Tonys Soccer School, is at the forefront and leader of player development, through community involvement, integrating Fun with Learning a number of skills. Innovitive ideas and systems, to incourage individual improvement, team play, focusing on personal development, with behaviour reward schemes, exclusive Badge recognition scheme as the players move up the improvement ladder.
Last week all our players participated in our Player Ability tests, designed over many years by Tony, along with the best dedicated, and award finalist, Coaches and Helpers, culminating in Players receiving Certificate awards.
This regular recording of player development, helps Coaches and Parents see the progression there child makes. This Fun and enjoyable system, along with skills learned, are then put on show, in our own in-house, 6 weekly Mini League, which is now going into its 3rd season.
For many years, our Soccer Camps have been running, and again this Summer for the past 10 weeks, with over 300 places filled. This year see's player's participate in fun activities, culminating in the winners receiving awards at the presentation ceremony.
This weeks players were lucky enough to meet Ronnie Whelan, who along with Sporting Dinner Club, Orihuela in front of a packed audience of over 100 people were delighted to present the Soccer Camp awards. The Players who received awards were, Joshua Greenaway, Taylor Hirst, Ben Naylor, Joseph Justice, Kai Pickford, Connor Hirst, Alfred Emmett, Luke Naylor, Jay Pickford, Luke Naylor & Alex Minaudo.
The Official Liverpool Football Club Costa Blanca Supporters Club, were also on hand to share in the players delight. Ronnie Whelan and Organiser Doug Macdonald should receive a number of plaudits, for the time spent presenting the awards, and Ronnie could not do enough for the players.
Our Soccer School players who 2 years ago appeared on LFC, TV, also enjoyed having there photographs and signing shirts for the excited youngsters, was an experience they will never forget, 'we cant thank you enough, you have made our dreams come true' said the players. The evening was a complete success.
Tonys Soccer School, teams have been training every week throughout the summer, 52 weeks a year and are now preparing for the league football season.
