Please ensure that you bring the following things with
you on the day:
• 3G Astroturf boots/blades/moulds
• Trainers
• Full sports kit (be prepared for wet or cold weather)
• Plenty of fluids
• Shower toiletries and towel
• Shin pads
• Change of clothes for the afternoon
• Pens, pencils and paper
• Packed lunch and snacks (there is limited access to food on site)
Background Aims
The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation & Waltham Forest College Education
and Football Development Centre links Football Theory, Academy standard
coaching and affiliated league and cup competitions with a range of academic
students for up to 50 girls and boys aged between 16 and 18 years
Learners of varying abilities and from a wide variety of ethnic and social
backgrounds can enrol on full time BTEC Level 2 or 3 Courses with the
potential to continue onto a Foundation in Sports Development and Coaching
Content
A permanent team of qualified staff from the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation
and Waltham Forest College will deliver the coaching and teaching elements of the programme
All coaching staff has appropriate FA qualifications in Football, are
emergency aid rained, and are CRB checked to enhance level
Coaches from the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation are also THFC
Academy or Development Centre coaches
Learners will use facilities at the College, the Wadam Lodge Sport
Ground, and Tottenham Hotspur Football Club over the duration of the year
Learners who enrol on the course will be required to sign a code of
conduct, and will not be allowed to train or ply football unless they are
up-to-date with their academic commitments
Classroom sessions will fit around the football training and playing
element of the programme
Learners will receive up to 10 hours of Tottenham Hotspur Academy
standard coaching each week at the Wadam Lodge Sports Ground
A physiotherapist will be available for all learners
An elite squad will be selected from the students to complete at
college level both and nationally
A Development squad will also be selected to improve the skills of
students who are in the elite squad. These students may progress
to the elite squad during the course of the academic year
Both squads will be entered into suitable leagues and cup competitions,
ensuring that there are enough games for all players, and at the right level.
Training and plying for the programme will be provided for each learner

How to Get Involved
Successful applicants will be invited for a three day football trial,
class based assessment, and an interview will be placed on a
course that reflects their qualifications.
