Youth Development
Stevenage FC Academy Trials for both Girls & Boys
U7 - U14's Talent ID Trials Boys/Girls
Starting in September the new Talent ID Centre will be starting for Elite
players from U7 – U14. It is aimed at players who want
additional coaching or who are at the standard to be
considered for Academy football. This new technical
session will be part of the Academy pathway and coached
by Academy staff following the Academy Syllabus.
Players will continue to play for their local club but come
to us once a week on a Wednesday for coaching and
assessment. As participants improve they will move up the
Elite player pathway which could be all the way to the Academy squads.
We will be holding 2 week trials for the Talent ID programme
up until November 2016. If you would like to sign up to this
trial then please complete the form below and bring it back to
us with a payment of £12 for outfield players and £15 for
goalkeepers. Please be aware there are limited spaces in
each group so please book quick to avoid disappointment.
* Please be aware that if you get accepted onto the programme
the remaining cost of the block will be £6/£7.50 for goalkeepers
per week up until the 21st December.

Boys
Youth Development Programme
Under 7's-Under 12's
In addition to our Centre of Excellence we will also run a
Development Program where the boys and girls will
train with us once a week on a Monday evening but
continue to play for their local team. The aim for the players at
this level is to develop to a standard where they could progress
into our Academy Squads.
Stevenage Football Academy has been running a fully operational
Youth Development Program since August 2003.
Our Youth Development Centre is designed to educate and improve
talented players to one day represent the Senior squad as a
professional footballer.
The boys Youth Development Program now has over 350 young
footballers between the age of 8-16 all being coached by fully
qualified FA coaches each week. The scheme is split into 3
tiers and there is movement between the groups as the boys progress.
Academy - designed for elite players with exceptional talent to represent
Stevenage FC in the Football League Program against other
Football League Clubs
Academy Shadow Squads - Squads that shadow the Academy
boys and compete in a games program of their own but can also
still play for their local club
Development Centre - A starting point for all potential elite players
We now have in place a technical syllabuses which concentrates
on team play and technical practises that runs throughout the Youth Program
The program is designed to improve players technically and educate
them in patterns and theories of play. At Development level we do
not look to take players away from their clubs but to work together
to bring along a player, which in turn should benefit their regular sides.
Where as the Excellence centre is a signed programme where playing
for other clubs is not permitted.
The Youth Development Programme is a professional set up with
professional aims. Stevenage Football Club has a vested interest in
the development of young local talent and our aim is to have a regular
annual feed into our U18'S and finally into the world of professional
football with the senior side.
