Write about your football history : I'm a 17 year old goalkeeper now and I currently play in Ireland for Dundalk fc u19s airtricity league. This is the highest division in the country that I can play in at this age. I also train with the Dundalk seniors twice a week and I learn a lot with them and it's great experience to be invloved with training with them. The senior team are currently at the top of the top Irish league, the airtricity league with 9 points clear and 5 games to the end if the season. This shows how good the club is. I'm an very experienced goalkeeper for my age and I've been through a lot. I've been over in England last year in Portsmouth for the just4keepers (j4k) residential camp. I have been picked to get this great opportunity in Ireland by coaches Like Matthew Gregg (ex Swansea City goalkeeper) and Steven Williams (ex Cardiff City and Wales goalkeeper)as only 1 out of 60 people that attended the camp/competition in Ireland to win and attend this camp in England with everything paid for. Matt Gregg and Steven Williams have great opinions themselves about me and my goalkeeping ability, and so do a lot of other very experienced coaches that I have trained with in Ireland (e.g. Garry Taylor (ex west ham goalkeeper) and Neale Fenn (ex Tottenham Hotspur striker). They can never say anything bad about my goalkeeping and are in big shock on how hard I work and say I am good enough to go over to England and play there. I really do work as hard as I can all the time. I 5 to 6 times a week and also play matches once a week. There is an article about me on thejust4keeperes.ie website on how impressed the coaches are with me, it's called "martin the magnificent" written by Matthew Gregg, worth to take a little bit of time to read. I've also been on a trial in Poland for Zaglembie Lubin and I've got on very good and the goalkeeper coach there was very impressed with me and been offered to come back. My previous clubs before I joined Dundalk this year are bohemians fc, also one of very well know clubs in Ireland, and swords Celtic. With bohemians I was asked to also play for the 19s airtricity league and train with the seniors which are also in the airtricity league (top Irish devision). With swords Celtic I have played for the seniors there week in week out as the 1st goalkeeper there in intermediate football which is also a very high level of football. This has really helped me a lot with my development. I also was on the NDSL and path2pro academies in Ireland where I got on really good and all the coaches there were really happy with me. Unfortunately I had to leave them because I moved club and I could not attend them anymore. If I got a chance of a trial I would really prove that I was worth the effort of brining down and I would not disappoint! Thanks for reading, Kind regards Martin
Write about your Playing Ability : I'm vocal & loud. Always commanding my players keeping them organised and at the same time concentrated. I've great agility and jumping. Very athletic and good with my feet. Confident on the ball and always looking to help out the players looking for the ball whenever I can. I've good handling and reflexes.
Why should an Academy Director give you a trial : Because I work the hardest I can at every training session and always give it my best shot. Always looking to get some feedback from coaches on what they think about me and I'm always looking to improve and take every advice on board. I would defiantely not disappoint if I got offered a trial and I would show that I was worth the effort of bringing down and giving me the chance.
