    College and Community Officer - Lancs FA

    Full-time role available at Lancashire County FA.

     

    Position: Full Time College and Community Football Coordinator

    Employer: Lancashire Football Association Limited

     

    Responsible to: Education Football Development Officer / County Development Manager

     

    Supported by:  BCS National Football Development Manager

     

    Salary:  £22,000 (fixed term contract until June 30th 2013)

    Role Description:

    This exciting new post is funded by The FA in partnership with Sport England. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced applicants to work with The Football Association and British Colleges Sport to address the drop-off in participation within football at the 16-19 age groups, whilst also sustaining existing participants and growing football participation within FE and sixth form colleges in Lancashire.

    The applicant will play a leading role in supporting the network of FE Colleges and Sixth Forms in Lancashire FA who promote and develop football both within the college and local community.

    The key work areas for the ‘CCFC’s’ will be as follows:

    • To increase the number of 16-19 year olds playing football on a regular basis in Further Education Colleges.
    • To increase the number of 16-19 year olds making the transition to play football in FA Charter Standard Clubs and Small-Sided Football Centres.
    • To support the development of satellite clubs on college sites for 14-16 year olds.
    • To recruit 14-17 year olds to attend FA Vauxhall SSF Youth programmes.
    • To create new volunteers supporting both college football and Charter Standard Clubs and Leagues.

    It is an essential requirement that you hold a minimum of a Level 2 FA Certificate in Coaching Football and a minimum Level 3 qualification in sports related subject, e.g. – A Levels, B-TECH National Diploma or equivalent and have experience of leadership and volunteering. It is desirable that you have current sports development background and together with an understanding of The FA National Game Strategy.

    The post is funded until the end of June 2013, however further funding to extend the contract is being sought for a further four years funding.
