THE PASSING GAME WINS AGAINST SPANISH OPPOSITION
The Latest News from this week.
Mil Palmeras (u12's) 3 - 2 FC Granja
Team Sponsor Coys Rent a car.
One of the performances of the weekend, started with one small step and one giant leap for a Mil Palmeras team that deserved this win. Played by the best football I have seen this season and Shadi Abu Ramadan, showed his quality with a delightful shot drilled into the corner. Esteban Perez followed in shortly after to make it 2-0 from a thunderbolt of a free kick.
This Mil Palmeras team passed the ball nicely and every player worked for each other and the passing up front was fantastic. With Esteban and James Brown combining like to other attacking partnership. 2-0 at half time and Granja played well and pulled back to 2-1 with a goal line scramble. But the moment of the match was winger Lewis Long, latched on to a lovely pass to volley a 20 yard shot into the top corner.
The crowd went delirious as our youngest player, terrorised down the left wing all game. Granja came into the game with another consolation goal but Mil Palmeras remained solid With Mozza again doing well. Deserved win, player of the match Lewis Long.
Formentera 5 - 3 Mil Palmeras (u6's)
Team Sponsor Abbey Tavern
Mil Palmeras started a little slowly but that is expected with many of these players playing away from home for the first time. Diego De Sheffield alongside Paolo Webb started well but it was Formentera who started the better going 3-0 up inside 10 minutes. However Mil Palmeras started to find there feet with Ben Naylor scoring direct from a corner, and Captain David Milton scored his first and added another with the best goal of the game to make it 3-3.
The second half was frantic, but enjoyable and Goalkeeper William Clayton was certainly in good form, with a fine penalty save. Formentera had home advantage refereeing see them awarded a total of 2 penalties and it wasn't to be Mil Palmeras's day. A result that could of gone either way but a game certainly enjoyed by a large crowd. Player of the Match Paolo Webb with last ditch tackles.
San Miguel 1 - 7 Mil Palmeras (u10's)
Team Sponsor DGC Property Services.
Another fine performance from a Benjamin Side playing some excellent mature football, won this game comfortably. A side full of talent scored a number of well worked goals with Kaden Taylor getting 2 and Harry Williams getting his second hat-rick in successive games.
The second half got underway and Captain George Johnson added another with a fine free kick. San Miguel added a consolation well worked goal, but Bently Brook secured all 3 points with a delightful shot low into the corner.
Mil Palmeras could of got into double Figures, with Connor Hirst taking players on at will. Zach Hipperson in his 3rd year with the Club played well in a side full of committed honest players. Lewis Hannah, Oliver Godden played well enough to get newspaper mention. Player of the Match Lewis Hannah. Quality in every department.
Mil Palmeras (u8's) 1 v 4 Bigastro A.
Team Sponsor TJ Interiors.
An early morning kick off certainly didn't help the home side today. Bigastro arrived 10 minutes after kick off but it was Mil Palmeras late out of the blocks. A generally good game which gradually drifted away from the home side. Ruben Breeze held firm at the back but at 10 minute intervals Bigastro added goals going in 3-0 at half time.
The second half was certainly a better game, and Mathi Londoz certainly battled hard in defence, and Luca Webb came to life up front, but had a few chances to shine. Bigastro made it 4, but Ben Naylor on a fine solo run added the best goal of the game. Mil Palmeras certainly deserved more goals, and certainly was a closer affair than the result showed. Player of the Match Ben Naylor (Worked hard all day)
Mil Palmeras (u10's) 1 v 9 Redovan A.
Team Sponsor Lyndyloo Bridal, La Zenia.
A difficult game against a well organised Redovan first team, meant for a hard working performance from Mil Palmeras side, was required. Efforts from Travis Preston, Nathan Done certainly showed improvements. Redovan were just too good a side, very physical at times with a penalty awarded to Mil Palmeras with a Foul on Reece Hannah.
Paige Pickford stepped up and slotted home comfortably which capped another fine performance. David Willock certainly improved in the second Half, and Jake Scott was everywhere on the pitch. A good spirited performance by Karim Ferouli inspired the team at times. Player of the Match Reece Hannah.
